Last I played Fortnite in the alpha it was really mediocre. It felt like a below average mobile game being made for PC, kinda like Dungeon Defenders 2. The tower defence elements are just boring, you need to spend a bit of time finding the point you defend then just build some traps and defences.
It is so bananas to me how much Fortnite now resembles nothing like that original version with the PvE stuff that was like a wave based defense mode with building structures and shit. I remember watching them play it when it first came out in early access or whatever and they were pretty unimpressed with it. And then it pivoted to the BR stuff.
