   What if notch eventually made mobs attracted to player made structures and blocks, so if you find a valley then you can hollow out areas for archers and at one end place a tower. Then this system would work for both the main game and be ideal for tower defense. IMO, this system is bad, but it would be a good compromise to fit both game modes.
