Only apple and Windows support other platforms. Windows 10-11 allows android games and Mac os supports iOS games with limits.

I completely agree that you shouldn't shell out $29.99 (+tax, if applicable) for the game, as well as $7.99/month (current rate here in CO, USA) for a Realm to cross play within a singular game.
