Here's how you can play 1.17! Tutorial. So recently I got an old PC which couldn't run 1.17 but could run 1.16. I realised that the iGPU inside the PC only supported OpenGL 3.1 but could support DirectX 12. I ended up doing this to play MC with not much lag (I do have lots of RAM tho) - Install 7-Zip if you haven't got it already from 7-zig.org.
Changes in 1.17 Pre-release 1. Candles have been added back to the creative inventory. Recipes for crafting and dying candles are once again available. Candles now have a different texture when lit. Glowing text on signs now has an outer glow, making text in dark colours more visible in the dark.
Jun 8, 2021 · Since MC 1.17 is brand new, it could be using a different version of Java than older versions (usually 1.8_51). Do you have Java installed on the PC? If you do, go into the launcher settings and have the launcher use the version on the PC.
