Jan 18, 2024 · Thanks. I was considering doing a repair install for other reasons, which is why I asked. If I could kill two birds with one stone, I will. I just don't want to do a repair install if the MCT or whatever hasn't been updated yet to include the KB5034441 fix.

Extend the Windows RE Partition The sample script below can be used to increase the size of recovery partition to successfully update Windows Recovery Environment (WinRE). It is recommended to have 250MB of free space in the recovery partition for WinRE updates to install successfully.
May 4, 2024 · Helpfully, Microsoft did provide a couple of solutions fixing this issue: manual Command Prompt instructions, or a script you can run instead. Both of these solutions end up increasing the size of your WinRE partition by an additional 250 MB to make room for the update, by shrinking your system partition by that same amount.
