Feed the Beast is one of the most reputed Minecraft groups when it comes to developing mods and maps. Revelation, FTB's performance-oriented modpack, still requires 4GB of memory but can really stabilize players' framerate or server connectionwithout taking anything away from all of the great landmark mods that make FTB special. This modpack is gea...

This modpack's title isn't for show, as it features some of the most impressive performance improvements Minecraft has ever seen all in one pack. It operates primarily as something of an analog to Optifine but works through the Fabric mod loaderinstead of CurseForge. This provides all of the support players could ask for, including shaders, capes, ...

Minecraft's original trailer was a little more simplistic than its in-game textures, but there was a certain charm to them. Nostalgic players may want to give Low Res Trailer Recreation a shot. The modpack is fairly straightforward in its intent. It simply aims to take the original trailer's low-res art style and make it the norm in-game, and it ce...

Roguelike Adventures and Dungeons (RAD) turns Minecraft into a roguelike dungeon crawler, where players focus heavily on combat and looting gear from nearby dungeons instead of spending a ton of time building. However, RAD can take up quite a bit of a machine's resources. Fortunately, the developer Dreams01 accounted for this and released a Lite ve...

  4. One clarification: Minecraft texture packs of lower quality like 8x, 4x, 2x, 1x have minimal to no effects on FPS. You are free to try it for yourself though. On the other hand, higher quality packs will DEFINITELY lower FPS count.

    • Waving Plants for Minecraft. While this may sound simple, the purpose of this shader is to bring a bit of life into your world. You won’t see a massive visual upgrade in the way the world looks, but you’ll be able to see the vegetation around you moving with the wind, which helps breathe a bit of life into an otherwise sterile world.
    • Sildurs Enhanced Vanilla Shaders. You’ll keep the charm of the original Minecraft look that players have grown to love, but you’ll see an increase in the quality of the water around you, shadows will spread much more realistically, and will even allow you to play around with different texture packs to tweak this to look to your exact specifications.
    • Tea Shaders For Minecraft. If you’re looking to see an increase in the water quality, lighting quality, and some other tweaks without ruining the performance of your PC, you’ll want to look into the Tea Shader set that is available.
    • YoFPS Shader. If you’re looking to enhance the lighting in your world, this will be one of the best ways to do so without sacrificing your performance. It functions almost like ray tracing, but without the massive hit to performance.
