I have gotten Minecraft Java Edition on our computer for my son and now he wants to get it for his laptop. It says if you already downloaded it then you get it for free which is awesome. The only problem is that it says it won't run is S mode.
Since you bought Minecraft in 2013 things changed a bit. A few months after Microsoft bought Mojang, MS released a version called Minecraft for Windows 10, which is a different game from the Java Edition (the one you bought in 2013). In order to download the Java Edition, you'll need your old credentials to download MC again from Mojang's website.
