  3. Jan 8, 2022 · You dont technically need the launcher to play Minecraft, however it is highly recommended and is necessary to install Minecraft. The launcher will allow you to play both Java and Bedrock, assuming that they are both purchased.

  4. The idea is to make sure that the saved games folder, matches your launcher_profiles.json file. For this example I am going to use version 1.15.2 of MC. Your saved games may be in a different folder depending on your version and type of MC.

    Before playing Feed The Beast, you should do the following:

    1.Purchase Minecraft: Java & Bedrock Edition for PC from the Microsoft Store. It is included with PC Game Pass and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.

    Once you have Minecraft: Java Edition successfully running on its own you are ready to install the FTB App.

    1.Download the app from here.

    2.Run the app.

    3.Configure the installation folder and desktop shortcuts.

    There are many FTB modpacks, as listed here. The FTB App can also be used to install CurseForge modpacks as well.

    Installing an FTB modpack

    1.In the app's main window click on the magnifying glass icon on the left.

    2.Click on one of the modpacks. The app will show an overview of the modpack. Click on the "Mods" tab to view a list the mods that make up that modpack.

    3.Once you have chosen your modpack, click the "Install" button.

    4.Wait as the app downloads and installs the modpack.
