There's no official plot or lore and that's the charm of the game. You're free to come up with your own. Minecraft has no official story. Telltale tried to create a world for Story Mode, but they didn't expand too much and it's implied, IIRC, that every Minecraft "world" has it's own lore and such.
By design, Minecraft has little in the way of plot or characters -- the world is randomly generated and the best "stories" occur naturally based on what you decide to build and explore.
