The sixth season of Monk began airing in the United States on USA Network on July 13, 2007. Like previous seasons, it was split in two sets, with the second half of the season premiering on January 11, 2008. A Christmas special was also aired on December 7, 2007.
The sixth season was released on DVD on July 8, 2008. It includes four discs with a total runtime of 683 minutes. The first disc includes the special features "Mr. Monk and His Biggest Fan" video commentary by writer/executive producer Andy Breckman, "Mr. Monk and the Naked Man" video commentary by writers Tom Gammill and Max Pross, and "Mr. Monk and the Bad Girlfriend" video commentary By writer Joe Toplyn.
