Aug 9, 2015 · Report abuse. In reply to Sharief K's post on August 13, 2015. After more trials, I went into Display and unchecked the box for aligning the icons to the grid. There is a check box that will automatically align the icons to a grid. I unchecked that box and can now place the icons wherever I like and the do not move.
Desktop icons reset after boot/reboot - Windows 10. i spent hours trying to fix this problem and couldn't fix it. It happened to me after installing NOD32 Antivirus. It looks like the source of the problem, googled around a bit and in every case it is this software installed.
