I own a Z30, and have not realized that BlackBerry Protect was still activated when the servers shut down. I am unable to wipe the device using the standard procedure.
Fortunately, BlackBerry created a means to reset your password should you lock yourself out of your device. You can also, however, choose the "nuclear" option -- completely resetting your phone to factory defaults.

With tablet off, press and hold the power and volume up buttons simultaneously. Hold for 10-15 seconds, this should enter into boot menu. Then you will find an option to, Reset Factory default settings/reset user data. select this option. Device should now reset and clear password. May take a few minutes.

To perform a hard reset, remove the battery for a few seconds and then reinsert.
For a soft reset, press and hold the Alt, Right-Shift, and Backspace/Delete keys.
Open the battery cover on the back of the BlackBerry.
Remove the battery from the phone.
You can perform a hard reset on the BlackBerry Z10 by pressing and holding the Power button on the top of the phone for about 10 seconds.
Reinsert the battery after a few seconds.
To be on the safe side, wait for up to 30 seconds and then reinsert the battery into the back of the phone.
The BlackBerry should reboot and function normally. You may have to power the BlackBerry back on with the Power button.
