Jan 31, 2024 · Step 1: Open the Settings app. To get started, open the Settings app on your iPad, then select General from the list of options. Step 2: Tap Transfer or Reset. Scroll to the bottom of the page and tap Transfer or Reset iPad. The next screen will give you the option to prepare your iPad to set up another device.

If iPad isn’t responding, and you can’t restart it by turning if off then on, try forcing it to restart.

If your iPad doesn’t have the Home button, do the following:
1.Press and quickly release the volume button nearest to the top button.
2.Press and quickly release the volume button farthest from the top button.
3.Press and hold the top button.
Press and hold the top button and the Home button at the same time. When the Apple logo appears, release both buttons.

Oct 19, 2023 · Lifewire. Hold the button until a slider appears at the top of the iPad screen. Let go of the on/off button. Move the slider left to right to turn off the iPad (or tap Cancel if you change your mind). This shuts down the iPad. When the iPad's screen goes dark, the iPad is off.
