Each properly installed and properly operated device should be presented in Device manager regardless of driver installation.

Feb 19, 2015 · Thus, my passport suddenly does no longer recognize the SIM-Card! Behavior started just before the update (I initially wanted to avoid the update coz not at home) Then, continued after the update, too... so it is not due to the update and not "repaired" after the update. The passport reboots randomly, too, and freezes sometimes.
