It is the largest city in Boulder County, with a population of 108,250 at the 2020 United States census, [6] making it the 12th-most populous city in Colorado.
Some 100,000 prospectors, mostly men, set out for the Rocky Mountains hoping to make their fortunes. Boulder grew slowly at first.
