I've already seen every MCU movie and I was thinking about watching Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. but it looks very boring. Is it any good? Should I watch it?
Definitely worth watching. The first few seasons slug on at times, but it really picks up steam and is worth every second. The characters are lovable, the plot is well-crafted, the twists are shocking, and it’s overall fantastic!
I see a lot of posts from people asking if they should watch AoS after dropping it after a few episodes now that it's available on D+ for most of the world and they're ending the show this season. This is a screenshot of a graph from ratingraph.com, which takes IMDB ratings of shows and movies and neatly lines them up like this.
- Season 1: 88%
- Season 2: 91%
- Season 6: 93%
- Season 4: 96%
- Season 3: 100%
- Season 5: 100%
- Season 7: 100%
It's no surprise that the first season of Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.is also the lowest ranked. The series has a reputation for having "a rocky start" thanks to a lot of seemingly standalone episodes in the first half of the season. In reality, those episodes set up a longer story arc that paid off in the back half of the season. The first season brough...
The second season introduced a lot of new faces to the audience. Though most didn't make it to the end of the 22 episodes, Alphonso Mackenzie, Lance Hunter, and Bobbi Morse did, becoming fan favorites in the process. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. in space is the best description for the sixth season. After the time travel adventure of season 5, Daisy, Jemma, Piper, and Davis spend a good chunk of time in outer space trying to track down a missing Fitz. Of course, that also means both Daisy and Jemma avoid grieving for Coulson and the Fitz they lost in season 5. The se...
The producers and writers took a structural gamble with this season, and it paid off. Instead of a single throughline, season 4 was broken into three "pods" of episodes that allowed the writers to take some creative gambles. Though the second season gave the Inhumans an introduction, the third season really expanded on the mythology for the show. Not only did the writers introduce the very first Inhuman ever, but they also brought in characters that would have major effects on the show moving forward. Daisy got to head up her own task force with new addition Elena Rodr...
The first time the Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. team got to hang out in space was in season 5when they found themselves frozen, sent somewhere they didn't initially recognize, and ended up separated. As it turned out, they weren't just in what looked like a space station; they were also in a post-apocalyptic future. The first half of the season dealt wit...
Just as seasons 3 and 5 got a perfect 100%, so did the final season of Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.. Season 7 was a thrill ride through S.H.I.E.L.D. history and an alternate timeline that allowed fans to revisit some long-gone characters, and brought the lingering story threads of the sixth season to an end. It's a rare final season that can satisfy the ...
