Cressida is the main antagonist of the The Dog Who Saved... franchise sequel, The Dog Who Saved Easter. She is a cruel, abusive doggy day care owner who abuses and mistreats dogs in a cold manner. She was once Alice's employer before firing her and currently Minnie's employer before the latter quit after seeing through her wicked ways. Eventually, she hires the bumbling thieves: Ted Stein and Stewey McMann and Fred Stein to ruin Alice's own doggy day care business. She is often accompanied by her white cat, Napoleon.

She was portrayed by Catherine Hicks.

As a doggy day care owner, Cressida looks after the dogs of some owners but in a very cruel, cold, and abusive manner, which can make her very intimidating, rude, arrogant, short-tempered, obnoxious, detestable, bossy, demanding, mean, abusive, mad, strict, cruel, and sadistic. Beneath her businesslike exterior, Cressida can be impatient and threat...

Cressida was once Alice's employer at her doggy day care until she fired her, which resulted in the latter eventually opening up her own doggy day care. One day, at her place, Cressida along with her cat, Napoleon expresses her anger and displeasure when she learns that her current employee, Minnie has been providing extra treats to each dog during snack time and orders her to muzzle a barking dog despite the latter's reluctance and failed attempted flattery.

Having learned of her former employee's new business from Minnie after noticing she's recently a few dogs short, Cressida sets out to find a way to ruin and sabotage her competing rival's business in order to make sure her place is the only one that stays in business in the end. So, Cressida takes up to hiring criminal currently under probation, Fred Stein associated with two other criminals also under probation, namely, his older brother: Ted Stein and their partner-in-crime, Stewey McMann to ruin and sabotage Alice's place by any means necessary and promising them a fair price for getting the job done right.

A few days later, in her office, Cressida, Fred, Stewey, and a reluctant Minnie watch Alice's place from a dog, Rocky's collar cam that Fred and Stewey planted on him earlier as Cressida tries to spot any possible code violations including health ones that could shut her competitor's place down for good. After spotting only a few violations, Cressida proposes to call the town inspector before telling Stewey to remove the smelly dog urine on his person.

Later on, Cressida deliberately interrupts a friendly, romantic conversation between Alice and her new boyfriend, Will, a vet at a park including their dogs, Zeus (the Bannisters') and Gabrielle, sarcastically congratulating Alice on her new business and telling her to enjoy it while she can until the latter sarcastically thanks her for having fired her in the past and giving her the motivation to start her own business. After a quick exchange in sarcastic insults, Cressida simply but sarcastically warns her about possible failing business before leaving in anger with a vengeance after being sarcastically wished a Happy Easter by the latter.

Back at her place, knowing that Alice has passed the inspection, Cressida informs Fred and Stewey to come up with something more devious to ensure that Alice's business fails as she threatens to call the police and have them arrested for violating their probation if they fail next time. For a start, Cressida gives Fred and Stewey a tube containing fleas inside to use against the dogs at Alice's place.

After Ted and Stewey have successfully kidnapped the dogs and locked them up at Cressida's place despite much difficulty driving back there due to a faulty GPS while Fred returns to break into Alice's place and tries to open her safe, Cressida pays the promised amount of money to Stewey and proceeds to make calls as the latter thanks her and leaves. Then, Cressida receives a rather expected call from Alice having learned about the dog kidnappings despite the former deliberately denying all knowledge of everything that has happened before hanging up on her and sending Napoleon to check on the dogs. When Cressida notices to her shock that the dogs are escaping, she angrily demands Minnie to bring her her keys to pursue them in her car.

•Cressida is similar to Cruella De Vil as they both hate dogs, do whatever they can to abuse and mistreat them, suffer minor accidents, get outwitted by the protagonists, and get arrested afterwards.

  2. Easter is approaching, and the Bannisters are going on a family cruise. But when their beloved dog, ZEUS, can't go, Belinda makes the difficult decision to have him stay at Alice's dog care...

  3. Cute dogs, harmless buffoonery, and sweet romance (both canine and human) add up to a predictably safe sequel. In fact, it's all predictable: the farting foodie, the ever-present dog poop, the appealing variety of dog breeds and types, and the repeat villains who always seem to be in the lovable Zeus's way.
