  1. Jaimie removes his face to reveal Arya, who knows the tunnels below the Red Keep like home because of chasing cats in season 1. Arya’s list is finally complete. She doesnt have time to revel however because the tunnels are collapsing.

  2. Jun 24, 2019 · When Arya showed back up in season seven, Sansa would use this against Littlefinger and convince everyone he coerced her into lying about Arya's fate because he wanted to marry Sansa and have no contenders for the line of succession in Winterfell.

  3. On Arya, I agree and hope that Arya reclaiming her humanity and doing a version of the classic hero’s journey is where the books take her. For the show, I thought it’d be interesting to see her subsume herself completely though, first into institutions and then into a wolf pack, and lose her identity almost completely - ‘the pack survives’.

Welcome to the Game of Thrones Rewritten Wiki!

This wiki aims to create a comprehensive rewrite to the controversial ending of Game of Thrones, in addition to a timeline of sequel events surpassing the events of the show. This wiki is modelled after Wiki of Westeros.

While some plotlines are tweaked and new characters introduced starting from Season 7 Episode 5 "Eastwatch", the primary point of divergence from the original series occurs in Season 8 Episode 3 "The Long Night". The Night King and the Army of the Dead are not defeated at Winterfell, the survivors are forced to flee south, and a final stand occurs at King's Landing. Some originally surviving characters are killed, some originally killed-off characters survive, and many of the surviving characters are left on very different trajectories than they were in the original series. But the most significant change is in who ultimately 'wins the throne'; Gendry Baratheon and Arya Stark ascend to rule the Seven Kingdoms by series end.

Like millions of others, I was unhappy with the ultimate conclusion of the series, and ever since the final episode aired in May 2019, I've been thinking up ideas as to how the show could've concluded differently. As someone who has read Game of Thrones's source material, A Song of Ice and Fire, in a perfect world, the show would've been written differently from the outset of Season 5. Instead, this rewrite mainly focuses on rewriting Season 8 (with some minor accommodating changes to the latter half of Season 7) and concluding the show in a way that, at least in my opinion, would've been both satisfying to fans, provide some interesting plot twists, all while remaining true to the show's dark and unforgiving setting.
