Jan 1, 2015 · Got it up on a stand today and there is a leak from the housing around the timing belt on the driver's side. Pulled the housing off and it looks like it's from the timing-belt pulley seals, but it was not clear where it was originating from.
Jul 5, 2018 · Posted July 5, 2018. Could be avcs line leaks at the front of the engine , have a look at the banjo bolts that connect the lines to the block . Could also be cam or crank oil seals , remove the plastic cambelt covers and have a look . If you've got oil inside the cambelt covers , try and get it sorted sooner rather than later.
Cam carrier leaks are initially annoying, but only really become a problem when they either start leaking onto the exhaust and presenting a smell, or when they start leaking onto the A/F sensor wiring and foul the sensor body.
Oct 21, 2015 · They're probably leaking because they've had camshafts twisting in them for nearly 200k miles. The downside to not addressing an oil leak behind the timing cover is that your timing belt WILL NOT like getting oily. It'll be okay until it's not. Then you'll be taking your heads off and replacing valves, maybe pistons.
