The Dragon Slayer series is unrelated to the Trails series and yes the order you have is the correct order to play them in. All the Trails games are related taking place in the same world during the same time period just in different countries, events from previous games are mentioned and even characters from previous games do make appearances.
The Dragon Slayer (ドラゴンスレイヤー Doragon Sureiyā) series is an online RPG published in 1984 by Falcom on the NEC PC-8801 and Fujitsu FM-7 computer systems. With its success, the franchise had been giving rise to a series of sequels, most of them created by Falcom and other partner companies.
The sixth entry spawned a series called The Legend of Heroes with the third entry separating completely from the Dragon Slayer series. The modern incarnation of the series is connected via the Trails subtitle with each set of games telling an arc of the interconnected story.
