Slytherin is one of the four houses at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The house was founded by Salazar Slytherin, a wizard who believed that only those with pure blood should be allowed to attend Hogwarts. Slytherin students are known for being ambitious, cunning, and resourceful.
As a teenager she attended Wyedean School, which notably historically had a four House system (oh look it’s almost as if there might be a connection), before abandoning it as the school grew (I can’t find anything about when this happened, but it could well have been after Rowling studied there).
