The Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools (SIAMS) is the Church of England and Methodist Church’s outworking of the requirements of section 48 of the Education Act 2005. It is a key element of the life of all Church of England and Methodist schools in England.
The primary objective of a SIAMS is to evaluate both the effectiveness and distinctiveness of a school as a church school. It asks the key question: ‘How effective is the school’s distinctive Christian vision, established and promoted by leadership at all levels, in enabling pupils and adults to flourish?’.
SIAMS inspection focuses on the impact of the school's Christian Vision in all areas of school life and especially on the children, young people and adults who attend it. Our schools have a variety of strategies and styles, which reflect their particular context or church tradition.
