   May 12, 2011 · My DD (7) has nicknamed herself Izzy - even writing it on her schoolbooks etc. I call her either Isabel or Belle, not Izzy. DH wanted to name her Isabella originally, but I had always wanted Isabel and didn't like Bella as a nickname. However, now I think I would have peferred it to Izzy!

   • Isabels always seems to get shortened to Izzy and Isabellas get shortened to Bella. My lovely grandmother was known as Ibbie. Also my mum hated me being called anything but my full name but of course people at school shortened it as did my Dad and brothers so I don't think just you calling her that name will matter over the years.
