We have a chance to partner with Grand Rapids’ improvements and tout a vision that will also appeal to the next generation. We can make things safer, better and more appealing to current and future residents by pioneering better pedestrian and bicycling infrastructure, especially with the rise in cycling and scootering by children and adults alike.
Additional green space would be great – there’s no reason for the current fountain by the parking garage circle to be all concrete. Public restrooms and a playground near the lake would be nice. It also could be nice to make the downtown feel more connected to the lake… green spaces that flow from the downtown to the lake/ cafes or rooftop bars overlooking the lake.
