Like I understand the dragon's hate for Uther and thus his attack of Camelot, but the amount of times that he has assisted Merlin in saving Arthur and fulfilling his destiny etc. it seems a bit counter-intuitive to attack Arthur if the dragon so strongly believed in his destiny to unite Albion.
