He went back in time and stopped the near death experience happening by pushing present Stewie and destroying the trigger for the bomb which would have caused the tower to fall on him. He was then killed by present day Stewie.
Doug is like a tumour on Stewie’s character. There’s more episodes of Stewie and Doug than Stewie and Brian in these new seasons, which is depressing. I’m not sure what their obsession is with Doug, but I really hope he gets written out soon.
