- Prayer humbles us because as we spend time with him, we realize how powerful and able and good God is and how much we need him. And yet, God accepts us as we are—not because he wants us to stay that way, but because he knows that the relationship comes first. As we grow to love him, we will want to become more like him.

Delight yourself also in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart (Psalm 37:4). There are so many love songs that we have listened to whether we wanted to or not. I know for a fact that when I hear the word “desire,” I am reminded of God, yes, but also the song “I Want It That Way” by the Backstreet Boys. This song, as well as many...
For the Lord gives wisdom; from His mouth come knowledge and understanding(Proverbs 2:6). I have been told that it is wise to ask God how you should pray for your future spouse or your current spouse. We all have these stipulations and conditions we design in our minds according to our desires. We also do not realize how much influence the world ca...
Father, I thank you for showing us your love. Thank you, Father, for giving us the greatest example of love when you gave your only Son to die so that we could live. Father, I pray for those who are seeking a spouse. I pray that you, God, will be their first love and that they can trust You to bring them the spouse they have been praying for. I als...
Jan 2, 2023 · Paul’s prayer is that we’d grasp the love of Christ, not merely God’s love in general. Why does he emphasize Jesus’s love for us? To remind us to meditate on the cross. He prays that we might have the power of the Holy Spirit for experiencing God . . . so that we would grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ.

- Open their eyes even wider to you. Prayer is one of the most powerful, most thoughtful, most loving things we can do for those we love. And the most powerful, thoughtful, and loving prayer we can pray for others is that they would enjoy more of God.
- Fill their hearts with love for others. If God has answered our first prayer for those we love, that grace will begin to show in their love for people.
- Teach them the wisdom of your will. Our prayers for one another should begin with a growing love for God, and an overflowing love for people, but Paul does not settle for those two great prayers.
- Give them boldness to speak about Jesus. The commission Jesus left for us could not have been clearer (Matthew 28:19–20). We may forget it or neglect it in seasons of our lives, but it will not be because the charge is ambiguous.
Aug 21, 2024 · Why Do We Pray? We pray to align our hearts with God and to seek His guidance in the moments of our days. We find wonderful examples of this in scripture—from Abraham to David to the prophets—but one of the most powerful examples is in King Hezekiah’s life.

Mar 24, 2022 · 5 Reasons We Should Be Praying. 1. We love Him. Just as a man and woman in love desire to be together and communicate, so we, if we love God, will desire to be with Him and to fellowship with Him in proportion to our love for Him. 2. We depend on God. He is our source. He is our life (Colossians 3:4). Through prayer, we receive the comfort ...
