I thought it made total sense in Ghostbusters 2 even as a child. What happened in the first movie was totally ridiculous, and if I remember correctly, people thought they were already a fraud in the first installment too.
There is no reason to hate Ghostbusters 2. Virtually no reason. You can dislike it comparing it to Ghostbusters 1. You shouldn’t ever hate it as a Ghostbusters movie. At moments I love it more than the first movie.
