Kunwar Man Singh led the Mughal Army in the well-known battle of Haldighati fought in 1576 against the Kingdom of Mewar. He is also known for his reestablishment of Jagannath Temple of Puri , Orissa , [ 9 ] construction of Kashi Vishwanath Temple ,Varanasi.
Despite the victory in the battle, Man Singh did not allow the imperial army to chase the retreating Mewar troops and Pratap. According to historian Rima Hooja, this was done by Man Singh because of his personal respect for Pratap.
