The Ohio State College of Medicine was established in 1914 with William Means as the first dean. In the 1940s, the school had a two-year medical education program. In the 1970s, this was extended to three years, and then four years in the 1980s.
In 2012, Dean Bradford was elected as the first woman president of the AHNS. In 2020, she served a one-year term as president of the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery and was inducted into the academy’s Hall of Distinction in 2023.
