    Although William is described as being "of Throwleigh" and to have been born circa 1500, where he actually came from and when he was born isn't known for sure. There is no mention of any Knapman living in the Manor or parish of Throwleigh up to 1428. By the time William had children though he was well established in Throwleigh and very wealthy. In ...
