Oct 17, 2005 · Edmund Alexander (1785-1879) was an only son and his father was dead. His mother kept him in Cushendun, did not send him to school, and allowed him to mix with the ordinary people. He spoke Irish with the others and many stories were told of his strength and skill in boxing and hurling.
