The firm was owned and managed by Richard J. Diehl, who in 1977 built the new facility on the site of the original Whittaker establishment; it was at this time that the firm’s name was changed to “Diehl-Whittaker”.
Elmore's commitment to serving our community led to the establishment of the funeral home on East Church Street. Over the years, the business changed hands and names, finally becoming the Currie Funeral Home in 1985, under the ownership of Mr. James Latane Currie and his wife.
