In 1959 Slazenger’s Ltd was acquired by Dunlop operating under the International Sports Company (ICS) umbrella. 1960 In 1960, Slazenger player Neale Fraser won both the US and Wimbledon Finals. 1963 saw the company register their now famous panther logo and develop an extensive clothing line.
In February 2004, the company acquired Dunlop Slazenger for around £40 million, which included the Dunlop, Slazenger and Carlton brands. [ 53 ] The brands themselves are an increasingly important part of the business, and Sports Direct International made £10 million, from selling the intellectual-property rights to the Slazenger Golf brand to arch-rival JJB in 2005.
