    • NEVILLE LONGBOTTOM. At first, we are meant to believe that Neville Longbottom is a bit of a coward. We know in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone that the poor kid means well, but unfortunately, he isn't a character who has a lot of guts.
    • LILY POTTER. Although we unfortunately do not get to see much of Lily Potter throughout the series, we do know that she is easily one of the bravest Gryffindors of all.
    • ALBUS DUMBLEDORE. This one pretty much goes without question because Albus Dumbledore is known throughout the magical universe as "the greatest wizard of all time".
    • REMUS LUPIN. Remus Lupin is extremely brave, and he is arguably one of the bravest Gryffindors of all time. He has faced internal struggles throughout his whole life, dealing with the unfortunate fact that he is secretly a werewolf.
    • Narcissa Malfoy. Narcissa Malfoy may not be a good person, but it's pretty hard to deny that she's a brave one. One of the greatest lessons to be learned in the entire Harry Potter series is that the power of a mother's love is something that is borderline impossible to defeat, and that is a lesson that Lord Voldemort failed to learn both from Lily Potter and from Narcissa Malfoy.
    • Andromeda Tonks. Say what you will about the Black family, but it seems that their pure bloodline comes with a pretty heavy dose of bravery. Andromeda Tonks is the middle sister of the Black sisters (just imagine being sandwiched between Narcissa and Bellatrix, yikes), and she is one of the few members of the Black family who chose her own path regardless of the consequences.
    • Albus Potter. It may be hard to believe that the progeny of Harry Potter and Ginny Weasley could be sorted into any other Hogwarts house besides Gryffindor, but the youngest Potter child actually was.
    • Regulus Black. Regulus Black seems like another member of the Black family who decided to carry on the pseudo-tradition of choosing his own path regardless of the consequences.
  3. Feb 20, 2018 · Sure, as a reckless Hogwarts student it might’ve been fun sneaking around as a great black dog for thrills. But as a man, Sirius transferred those rebellious tendencies to bravery for the greater good. Here’s our case for why Sirius was one of the bravest characters of the entire book series.

    • Narcissa Malfoy. For the vast majority of her character's history, Narcissa Malfoy was not what anyone would consider strong or brave, and she has always lived an incredibly comfortable life that didn't require a lot of hard choices or consequences.
    • Luna Lovegood. Luna Lovegood may seem like a certifiable space cadet, but she is actually one of the toughest and bravest characters in the entire Harry Potter universe.
    • Regulus Black. It takes a lot of courage to make the right choice in the face of danger, but it takes about a hundred times more courage to make the wrong choice, admit it, and then try to rectify the mistake you've made.
    • Remus Lupin. Remus Lupin is a bit of a paradoxical character, because while he can be incredibly cowardly at times he is also one of the bravest characters in the series.
  4. Jul 29, 2021 · We would suggest that Neville is one of the bravest characters in the entire story. And while it is possible to think of plenty of examples that demonstrate this from later in the series, one of our favourite brave Neville moments has to be the very first time he stood up for himself.

  5. Here's proof that Neville Longbottom is actually the bravest character in Harry Potter. And it's not just because he stood up to his friends... When Neville stood up to his pals in Harry...
