About Ron Schmidt. A native of Michigan, I first began producing dimensional art in the early 1960’s in Savannah, Georgia. My first works used wooden frames and strategically placed parachute shroud lines. Since 1968 I have been working with metals and an oxygen/acetylene torch.

Originally born in Berlin in 1949, RoN Schmidt left the city in 1968 and has lived in the Niederrhein area since 1972. Over the years he has established an impressive reputation nationally and internationally for his unique blend of music, poetry, sculpture and painting.
