Time traveler Phineas Bogg accidentally goes to New York City in 1982 using a hand-held time machine known as an Omni. There, he meets 11-year-old Jeffrey Jones, whose parents have died. When Jeffrey falls out a window, Bogg goes after him and they both disappear.
Phineas Bogg is a Voyager who travels through time keeping it on the right track. After he lands in Jeffrey Jones' bedroom and loses his guide to history, the two of them travel through time together fixing things that go wrong.

However, Hexum did win the lead role in the 1982-1983 NBC TV series Voyagers! as Phineas Bogg, a former pirate turned time traveler. [12] Hexum was then cast opposite Joan Collins in the made-for-television movie Making of a Male Model , also starring Jeff Conaway and Roxie Roker .
