Peter Simpson Hedges (born July 6, 1962) is an American novelist, playwright, screenwriter, film director and film producer.
Lucas Hedges, who plays Ben, had previously worked with director Peter Hedges in the film “Dan in Real Life” when he was just 11 years old. This collaboration between father and son adds another layer of emotional depth to the film.
