Kunihiko Hidaka received the B.E., M.E., and D.Eng. degrees from the University of Tokyo in 1976, 1978, and 1981 respectively. Since 1987 he has been with the Department of electrical engineering of the University of Tokyo and is now a professor of electrical engineering.
