In the twenty-second century, Konstance is a young girl aboard the Argos, a generation starship heading for a planet called Beta Oph2. Their stories are bound by an Ancient Greek codex entitled Cloud Cuckoo Land that each of the five characters discover and find solace in.
Aug 14, 2024 · When a disease outbreak causes chaos among the crew, Konstance’s father saves her by locking her in Vault One, the ship’s independent intelligence center. Inside, she discovers the events at Lakeport Library in 2020 and Zeno’s translation of the Cloud Cuckoo Land folios.
Konstance learns that the Argos’s mission is also a lie and the ship is still on Earth. She escapes the ship and creates a life for herself on Earth, and with her she takes her homemade copy of Zeno’s translation of the Cloud Cuckoo Land folios.
Hence, there was no Ilium left to monitor the Argos experiment, and Konstance found her way to Qaanaaq, a village of people living in a more pre-industrial way. Speculation.
