Keith Douglas Sweat (born July 22, 1961) is an American singer and songwriter. An early figure in the new jack swing musical movement, he is known for his collection of hits including " I Want Her," " Make It Last Forever," " I'll Give All My Love to You," " Make You Sweat," " Get Up on It, " " Twisted," and "Nobody."
In 1987, Keith Sweat's first new jack swing song "I Want Her" peaked at number 5 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart. [25] It is considered the first official New Jack Swing hit. A few months later, Bobby Brown's "My Prerogative" would take the genre even further.
He later received phenomenal success as a solo-artist and his albums and singles peaked at the number one position on R&B and Billboard charts. He is one of the earliest practitioners of the ‘New Jack Swing’ style of music, an innovative blend of soul singing and hip-hop beats.
