1495. John Bonamy, son of Peter of St. Martins, was appointed King's Procurer for life, by Davy Phillipe, "Le curier du corps du Roi,” Captain and Governor General of Guernsey and Castle Cornet. This Peter may have been the furthest known common ancestor, if not of all Bonamys, at least of this, branch, without in fact knowing whence he came.

[Battle Lane Pump is in the rear of this house.] In the front of La Bataille a small house existed, between the store of Mr J. Bonamy and the limites of the College Field (on which Elizabeth College now stands.)
