Through Mary’s faith, the Son of God became man. Through Joseph’s faith, Mary’s child became Son of David, the Messiah of Israel. Like Mary, Saint Joseph’s greatness is rooted in his faith, a faith that demanded incomprehensible confidence in God’s power and a heroic degree of charity.
