David Stubbs (born 13 September 1962 in London) is a British music journalist. He grew up in Leeds and in the early 1980s was a student at the University of Oxford where he was a close friend of fellow journalist Simon Reynolds.

David Stubbs is a London-based journalist and author. He started working life at Melody Maker in 1986, joining the staff soon after.
