David Ortega earned a degree from the University of Arizona.Ortega's career experience includes working as an architect with Bennie Gonzales FAIA and with David Ortega Architect & Associates, Inc.
In 1979, I met the love of my life, Rosemary Gannon, who grew up in Scottsdale. We married in 1980 and in 1983 welcomed our daughter, Alexandra, and purchased our first home. In 1984, David Ortega Architect & Associates Inc. was established on Fifth Ave, providing comprehensive design, land planning and project management services.
Mayor David D. Ortega took office in January, 2021, as the 12th mayor of Scottsdale. Mayor Ortega focuses on promoting public safety and well-being, maintaining family-friendly neighborhoods, protecting the McDowell Sonoran Preserve and strengthening Scottsdale’s world-renowned reputation.
