Takaya Aiba (aka D-Boy) is the main protagonist of Tekkaman Blade, who also transforms into the titular hero of the same name. In the English-dub version, he is known as Nick Carter/Ness Carter and his transformed state is dubbed as Teknoman Blade.

Pegas is a robot designed and created by the Space Knights' engineers for the purpose of enabling D-Boy/Blade to transform into a Tekkaman after his crystal shattered. He also serves as a bodyguard, transportation method and battle aid for Blade and the two eventually become friends in spite of Pegas being a robot.
Takaya Aiba is the elder of the twins (for 30 minutes). He was saved by his father before he changes to a Radam Tekkaman and he escapes to defend Earth from their invasion. Aki and Noal find him when he fells to Earth and he claims he's lost his memories so they call him D-Boy.
