Cian O'Connor. Cian O'Connor (born 12 November 1979) is an Irish equestrian competing in show jumping. He has competed at four Olympic Games, four World Championships and six European Championships. O'Connor was stripped of the gold medal at the 2004 Olympics when his horse was found to have a banned substance in its system.
Cian's introduction to equestrianism started at the age of 14 through his father Tadhg's love of horses. His first horse whom he shared with his father was a chestnut gelding called Radiman, whom Cian had great success with in hunter trial competitions. O’Connor made his international debut for Ireland in Dunkirk, France at the age of seventeen.

O'Connor has been a member of over 90 Irish Nation's Cup teams, has won numerous Grand Prix events, and competed in two World Championships, three European Championships and two Olympic Games. He was a member of the Irish team that won the Aga Khan Trophy in 2004 and 2008 and has won or jointly won the puissance at Dublin Horse Show four times.
BIOGRAPHY. This is Cian’s fourth Olympic Games and he is Ireland’s only equestrian medallist to date; winning a brilliant bronze on Blue Loyd in London 2012. He won team silver at Junior Europeans in 2000 and was only 19 when he rode in his first Nations Cup. He won an individual bronze and a team gold medal at European Championships in 2017.
