I would have loved to see her and melissa end up together, but I get what the author wanted to say vis a vis tropes: That having a love interest isn't the only happy ending, and Yuri needs freedom form than anything. Nine is not ML material. That's the point.
While she's waiting for Melissa to wake up, we're shown that Yuri used to fight with all her might to break out of the narrative and it's implied by the imagery that she was violently beaten back into line every time, explaining her present-day apathy and resignation.
Melissa reunites with her Uncle Might. Melissa first met All Might when she was a child and came to pick up a new costume from her father, and seeing how it protected him and hearing how her father was a hero to All Might inspired her to become a support engineer.
