Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania (transl. Humpty Sharma's bride) is a 2014 Indian Hindi-language romantic comedy film written and directed by newcomer Shashank Khaitan and produced by Dharma Productions. [3] It stars Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt and debutante Sidharth Shukla. [4] [5] It is the first installment of the Dulhania franchise.
Khaitan received a nomination for the Most Promising Debut Director for the film Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania at the Apsara Film Producers Guild Awards (2015). He was also nominated for the Best Director category at the Filmfare Awards and The Screen Awards for Badrinath Ki Dulhania in 2018.
