Perry Duke Maxwell (June 13, 1879 – November 15, 1952) was an American golf course architect. He was a founding member of the American Society of Golf Course Architects and was an inductee into the Oklahoma Sports Hall of Fame in 2012. He was known as the "father of Oklahoma golf".
The preeminent American course architect of the Depression era was Oklahoman Perry Duke Maxwell, an Ardmore banker who designed his first golf course, Ardmore's Dornick Hills Country Club, in 1913, with the help of his wife, Ray Wood Maxwell, and their children.
Perry Maxwell was a founding member of the American Society of Golf Course Architects. Known for forming links out of the natural terrain, rather than by wholesale land movement, he continued to design and build golf courses until he died on November 15, 1952, in Tulsa.
